Metal Toad Media, a top-notch development team out of Portland, asked us to join them for the responsivization (new word!), redesign and Drupal-ization of FEARnet.com. Knowing Metal Toad's great work, we jumped right in. 

FEARnet.com supports the FEARNet cable network while acting as a hub for all things horror.  Programming promos, horror news, and on demand content reside side by side on the site and are tied together by active community participation and a richly branded FEARNet wrapper.

Sisu's UX solution balanced the whole -- high-profile ad placements, reams of rich content and community content - and delivered a horrifyingly fun, complex site under a tight timeline.  If that wasn't enough, our site design is a device-friendly blend of responsive and adaptive. 

The result was a nimble, well-branded site and a happy client. 

What more could we hope for? MORE ZOMBIES! Duh.

For Yahoo!'s 2012 Election coverage, we rolled up our proverbial sleeves and brainstormed, debated, filibustered and collaborated to establish the naming and branding of Yahoo!’s political coverage for the coming year: Destination 2012. Working in agile fashion with both Yahoo!’s news team and technical teams, we helped roll out a design system that covers page elements, iconography and applications in preparation for the Republican primaries all the way through Election Day.

9/11 Remembered

Sisu worked with Yahoo! to create their 10th anniversary of 9/11. Using the JS library Isotope, Sisu designed and built a mosaic of profiles that let users explore a new story every day for the 30 days leading up to 9/11. The site, viewable across webtop and iOS browsers, give Yahoo a platform to highlight videos, blog content, profiles and news.

The first steps for the new brand were to generate quality content, get online and ramp up revenue. Sisu worked with the company to develop their business plan, then dove in to design and develop a stylish, robust site. A customized Drupal CMS enables distributed administrators and bloggers to manage articles, galleries, rich video, ads and contests -- running the business and building a vibrant new community in the cloud.

Sisu works with the Sony Corporation of America on numerous high-profile projects, most importantly Sony.com. Sisu recently overhauled the site’s design, features and technology, using the tenets of Responsive Web Design to better reflect Sony’s brand values of exemplary design and innovation while effectively promoting individual brands. The revised site delivers rich content such as animations, videos and Sony’s iconic products in an adaptive environment that flexes to accommodate webtop, tablets and mobile devices.

But there’s much more to our relationship with Sony. We strategize with the Sony team about brand, mobile and social media marketing; collaborate throughout the Sony universe to launch complex, interdisciplinary projects (including their Consumer Electronics Show website for five years); and we’re always there to help Sony plan for their next generation of marketing initiatives.

Sony.com 2006-2010
Our flagship project with the Sony Corporation of America is Sony.com, the gateway to the World of Sony. We overhauled the site’s design, functionality and build, revising it to better reflect Sony’s brand values of exemplary design and innovation. The site supports divisions as diverse as Sony Pictures, Sony Electronics and PlayStation through adaptable promotions and placement areas. The whole is presented in a dynamic interface that delivers Flash, non-Flash and tailored mobile versions. We also redesigned 200+ corporate site pages and backed it all with a custom CMS.

Sony CES
For several years running, Sony has looked to Sisu to create an innovative web presence to support their efforts at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. For the 2011 site, we collaborated with multiple agencies and Sony sister companies to construct an interactive experience that highlights new products, video blogs and more. The site delivers everything you want to know about Sony’s latest and greatest.

A Shifting Environment
Part of the Warner Bros. Music family, Nonesuch Records is a respected music label with a 40+ year history. Nonesuch has an eclectic artist roster that includes luminaries and innovators in classical, Broadway, world music, alternative, and other genres. Sisu brought the essence of the iconic brand to the web with a flourish: the redesigned and reconfigured site reflects the Nonesuch ethos of openness, quality and creativity while supporting the full Nonesuch artist roster with advanced features, design elegance and rich information.

Strategy
With the redesign, Nonesuch was looking to address the powerful changes in music consumption patterns, applying their pioneering attitude to the marketing of their artists and their exploratory approach to the web. The aim was to build stronger one-to-one connections with their fan base and to offer their full roster of artists with powerful new ways to promote themselves and boost sales of new and catalog materials.  Furthermore, they wanted to create a place that each artist could consider their online home, especially if they didn’t have their own standalone sites.

User Interface Design
Sisu worked with Nonesuch to bring their goals to reality through a complete overhaul of the site’s content, features, design and technology.  Sisu and branding partner Axiom Design Communications created a look and feel that is open, light and modern to meet the brand’s heritage. Sisu extended this into a full design system capable of presenting Nonesuch’s extraordinary depth of content in an intuitive framework that fosters cross-pollination of artist information and exploration of the site’s content.Technology
The entire site – including the new Nonesuch Radio and all Flash applications – are powered by a highly customized Drupal-based content management system. Sisu’s developers created administration tools that are elegant, extremely easy to use and able to power every feature on the site. Additionally, the tools did not compromise the design vision for the site, and we were able to set a new design standard for a Drupal-based site.

Results
The final product fulfills the goal by providing the label and its artists with a robust, attractive new platform to directly interact with fans — introducing them to new artists and genres; supporting their exploration via blogs, radio players, videos and music tracks; and then driving them to purchase. And all on a platform that can be supported by Nonesuch’s own resources and fosters an active, engaged audience.</description>
