Sony: Sony Mobile
Since 2005, we have worked with the Sony Corporation of America to help guide their web efforts, providing strategy as well as hands-on design and development for Sony.com, the Sony CES site and more. With the rise of mobile web usage, we recognized that Sony needed a mobile presence that matched the design and technology ideals of the corporation.

As a first step, we embarked on a strategy project to identify goals and potential project parameters. We identified competitor and industry best practices, a target set of handsets, the type of mobile presence(s) most appropriate for Sony and the content that is relevant via mobile.
Then, we got to work, designing and developing a tiered product that delivered content to five device types including: WAP-enabled phones (like a RAZR), Sony-specific devices (such as an advanced Sony Ericsson phone and the PlayStation Portable (PSP)), a SmartPhone and the iPhone. The site detects the handset and browser type then delivers an appropriate, stylish framework with content that can be easily viewed on the handset.
Sony mobile provides browsers on-the-go with a highly usable, informative experience while enabling Sony to distribute key promotions via mobile. It also drives users to the main site, Facebook and Twitter for deeper information. As with our other Sony efforts, the mobile site integrates with a custom PHP content management system.
